As stated last week, I love when I am presented with an opportunity to get a taste of another culture, without the expense of my United Airlines points to purchase an airline ticket. My most recent experience comes complements of Nueva Cocina Latin Cuisine. After receiving a box of tempting and amazingly healthy goodies, I decided to try out the Sopa de Maiz (Sweet Corn Soup) for my first venture into Latin vegetarian, gluten-free, all-natural, and preservative-free cuisine.
Since I?m not the biggest ?soup person? and since soup almost seems nonsensical in this North Carolina heat, I took the package?s suggestion to use the soup for a good pasta sauce. I was thoroughly pleased with my Sweet Corn Soup and Chicken Pasta. The pasta was not bland at all, instead it was pleasantly sweet. I?ve mentioned before that I don?t usually seek out the all-natural, more-healthy-than-not options *makes a mental note that I need to do better* ; however, I must say that after trying out one of Nueva Cocina?s healthy dinner options, I?d be likely to try another of the Latin cuisine selections offered up by the health-conscious company.
