How Cleveland's energy costs compare with national averages

12 cents: Average price per kilowatt hour of electricity in April for the Cleveland-Akron area, the latest national energy cost data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows.

12.8 cents: Average price per kilowatt hour nationally, or 7 percent higher than the Cleveland-Akron area.

76.5 cents: Average price of natural gas per therm, or 100 cubic feet (CCF), for the Cleveland-Akron area in April.

$1.02: Average price nationally, or 33 percent higher than the Cleveland-Akron area.

$3.68: Average price per gallon of regular-grade gasoline in the Cleveland area on Monday, July 15.

$3.64:
Average price per gallon nationally, or 1 percent lower than the Cleveland area.
